TESAMORELIN / CARE HANDBOOK

When tesamorelin enters the conversation

Questions to take with you

# Ask these questions before agreeing to care

You are ready for a conversation and want a short list to bring along. Pick the questions that match the parts of the plan still unclear to you.

## Start with the purpose and the product

What condition are we trying to treat?

Ask the clinician to name the goal and explain why tesamorelin is being discussed for it.

Which exact tesamorelin product is this?

The approved medicines are tesamorelin (EGRIFTA SV and EGRIFTA WR), as of September 28, 2026.

What evidence fits my situation?

Ask who took part in the cited study, what changed and how long the study lasted. Ask how those results relate to your reason for treatment.

## Ask how the care would work

Who is assessing me, and where can I check their licence?

Get the full name and professional role. Ask which public state-board record matches that role.

Which tests and follow-up checks are planned?

Ask who orders the tests, explains the results and changes the plan. Ask how to reach the care team between visits.

What unwanted effects need medical help?

Ask for the care team's instructions for a problem and a clear way to get help. Read the label with the exact product name in front of you.

What would lead us to stop or reconsider?

Ask how the treatment goal would be measured and what would trigger another discussion.

## Settle the bill and any extra rules

What is the full written cost?

Ask about the visit, medicine, tests, follow-up and delivery. Keep the terms for cancellation with the estimate.

What does my own insurance plan say?

Ask the plan about the named product and proposed use, then compare its answer with the estimate.

Do I compete in a sport that tests for banned drugs?

Under the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) list in force in September 2026, tesamorelin is banned during competition and between competitions.

A prescription does not cancel that sport restriction; a medical exemption needs its own approval.

WADA's next list takes effect January 1, 2027 and keeps the tesamorelin rule unchanged, based on the September 2026 check.

If you compete in a sport that tests for banned drugs, ask the sport body about its rules before treatment. A medical exemption is its permission to use a needed treatment.

## Take the unanswered questions into the visit

You do not need a finished opinion before asking for care. Start with the questions you cannot yet answer, and keep the replies in your own words.
